2027 Decatur Piping Competition - First Responders Pipe Band Competition


We are looking at creating a first responder pipe band competition for the May 2027 Decatur Celtic Festival and Piping Competition.


We will be lining up top judges and prize money for the event.


The contest will be held at the Wise County Fairgrounds, typically the first weekend in May.


If you are a member of a First Responder Pipe Band, please drop us a note to tell us of your interest in this event, and to be put on our list of event updates.  Thank you!

This is an unsanctioned competition that will be run according to EUSPBA contest guidelines


Solo: Grades 1 through 4

Solo: Grade 5 (Chanter)

Quartet Competition: Medley

All paid participants will receive an entry ticket. Any additional friends or family members will need to purchase an entry ticket at the gate or through the Decatur Celtic Festival main website. This event will follow all restrictions, guidelines and instructions set forth by the Decatur Celtic Festival

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 placings in the Quartet Competition


First Place: $250

2nd Place: $100

3rd Place: $50


Entry Fees: 

$40 early bird pricing for entrants who register for Solo before April 20, 2025.  After that it is $55 per solo competitor.  One price for all solo events.

Late entries will be taken until April 30, 2026.


Any entries where payment has not been received by April 30, 2025 will be dropped.
